Job Description

We're recruiting Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) to join our client's Innovation Group. You'll be an early team member, reporting to a seasoned engineering leader with global experience in leading, large scale and startup tech companies. Your role will be to design and build new systems environments that leverage private and public cloud and transform how the organization leverages SRE. 

We're looking for people that are either:

  • Software engineers that have recently focussed on SRE/devops/cloud/security; OR
  • Systems administrators that have strong software development skills (beyond scripting) skills. 


The Innovation Group is a relatively new group in our client's organization. Their mission is to drive and support the organization's transformation into a technology company internally through innovation and the creation of Centres of Excellence (e.g., Site Reliability Engineering, Blockchain, etc.).

The group is run in a similar fashion to an incubator. They partner with the lines of business (LOBs) to understand how the group can support them in building new capabilities, products and systems. They work with the LOB > understand problems > create problem statement > build it > operationalize it and put it into production. Extremely lean, agile shop, no bureaucracy. 

As a member of the team, you’ll wear multiple hats and engage on a range of projects/products. It’s innovation focussed and similar to a startup environment, but with real customers, financial backing, and a huge market for your products.

Tech Stack

As a member of the team, you’ll wear multiple hats and engage on a range of projects/products. It’s innovation focussed and similar to a startup environment, but with real customers, financial backing, and a huge market for your products. Depending on the product, project and challenge you’re seeking to solve, the technology used will vary. They use a range of tech including Golang, Node, Python, Java, Corda and others. In general, they’re looking for engineers that are comfortable learning new tech and bring deep engineering principles (e.g., performance, scalability, throughput, data structures, etc.).
