As the Director of Security, you will build strong relationships and solve complicated problems with internal stakeholders in Product Engineering, Fraud & Risk, IT, Business Operations, Legal, Product Management, and PR teams. We believe that the biggest security risks occur between the cracks, so your role will bridge across our organization, acting as glue and a second set of eyes to ensure that every part of Jobber is connected and aligned towards appropriate security standards.
You will act as a trusted advisor to the CTO and the technical management team for making business decisions and leading strategic initiatives. You will be called upon to make tough decisions in novel situations, and to deliver recommendations under tight time pressure, often among executives and internal experts with competing viewpoints.
You will champion the Security Engineering org internally and build a robust Security Engineering brand externally. Starting with one Security Engineer, you will be mapping out the future of our Security org and growing the team over the coming years.
The role consists of:
Work in a consultative fashion with leadership to share the vision and operational requirements to improve the security posture.
Deliver strategic thought-leadership for multiple information security disciplines such as penetration testing, vulnerability management, secure application development and remediation for identified vulnerabilities.
Create and maintain the set of unified key performance and risk indicators aligned to stakeholder requirements.
Aid in the automation of implementing security controls
Collaborate with external vendors to procure the best cost for professional service renewals and new engagements.
Establish cybersecurity capabilities and processes to protect company assets.
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative organizations working effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Work with Engineering leadership to continue to raise the bar of our Product Development Lifecycle to ensure Jobber is secure by design.
Provide the process and tools for Jobber’s Product Managers and Engineers to meet our security goals.
Continually tune and grow our Bug Bounty.
Create a visionary architecture roadmap and organizational strategy to align cloud and security teams with engineering, product management and other business teams.
You will bring: (on top of our usual values stuff)
Minimum 10+ years of experience working within Cloud and Security roles.
5+ years’ management and strategic experience leading technology teams.
